Come to the Asian Civilisations Museum and be enthralled as acclaimed dancer Gayatri Sriram takes you on a wonderful journey. Be captivated as she unravels Sita's story from her point of view through the graceful dance, Sita Swa-Gatham. This dance is choreographed by Smt. Minal Prabhu, who is among the leading Bharatanatyam gurus today.
Gayatri Sriram's personal journey in the Bharatanatyam arena began at the tender age of five. Under the guidance of Smt. Minal Prabhu of Kalakshetra, Gayatri was groomed into the world of professional Bharatanatyam. She has performed in several festivals and prestigious sabhas in India. Often described by the press as "graceful and scintillating", Ms. Sriram executes the Bharatanatyam repertoire with the keen lines and precision that the Kalakshetra background gives her.
